Things I've read this week that made me think
Meliorism is the idea that progress is a real concept and that humans can interfere with natural processes in order to improve the world.
Failure has many mothers
Silos - Siloed teams make siloed decisions to support their siloed goals. Most decisions are quite logical in their independent vacuum. But those independent logical decisions end up seeming quite illogical as a whole.
Cynicism - A single person can identify problems in a system that took thousands of people years to build. They might even be correct about every flaw they identify. This criticism, while occasionally valuable, is not equivalent to the work of building. The cynic’s contribution, while real, is orders of magnitude smaller than the builder’s.
